If you knew James, you knew his smile.
It was one that was often followed by a witty comment or laugh that was nothing less than contagious. Recalled by many to have been exceptionally open and kind, James never knew a stranger and was always the first person to invite and include newcomers in a group. His good-natured personality could put anyone at ease, and when you were with him you always felt like family.
“James’ love for life and ability to bring people together was inspiring. We miss him every day, but his smiling face and contagious laugh will always be remembered. It is our hope that these attributes will carry over into our foundation, and our efforts will create a meaningful legacy for all our communities.”

James had many interests. He loved music, animals, the outdoors and was an avid and accomplished horseman. James loved his family, his friends, his dogs, and you never saw him without a smile on his face.
James was never one to sit back and let life pass him by. He lived it to his fullest, and no matter what he pursued, it often came back to one thing – his love for being with others and the sense of community that he seemed to build wherever he went.
